Sagittarius is the archer, and she has been drawing her bow for a very long time. The Babylonians already saw a centaur-like archer in these stars. The Greeks told two stories: that the archer was the wise centaur Chiron, or that he was Crotus, the son of Pan, who was said to have invented archery. Look along her arrow and you are looking toward the very center of our galaxy, which lies in this part of the sky.
Here she is as the sign lives on earth, bow drawn, in the night sky where her constellation sits. Adventurous, optimistic, independent: the three words astrology has long given the sign.
If you were born November 22 through December 21, you were born under the astrological sign of Sagittarius. Whether Sagittarius is your Sun sign, your rising, or the person you are buying for, it is a quiet way to carry your corner of the sky.
