Scorpio is one of the oldest pictures in the sky. The Babylonians already called these stars the Scorpion, a name that can be read as "the creature with a burning sting." The Greeks told how a scorpion was sent to stop the hunter Orion, and how both were raised to the sky, where Orion still hunts all winter and flees when the scorpion rises in summer.
Here it is as it lives on earth, tail raised, in the night sky where its constellation sits, with the red star Antares at its heart. Passionate, intuitive, transformative: the three words astrology has long given the sign.
If you were born October 23 through November 21, you were born under the astrological sign of Scorpio. Whether Scorpio is your Sun sign, your rising, or the person you are buying for, it is a quiet way to carry your corner of the sky. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
